Hanamichi is a boutique travel company creating thoughtful, personalized experiences across Japan.

Our bilingual team brings together guiding expertise, local knowledge and a range of professional and cultural backgrounds. From Tokyo’s lively neighbourhoods to rural communities, seasonal landscapes and traditional arts, we help visitors experience Japan with greater depth and ease.

We offer private tours, cultural and food experiences, countryside visits and tailor-made itineraries shaped around each guest’s interests, pace and travel style. Through our relationships with local guides, craftspeople, farmers and cultural specialists, we create meaningful experiences that can be difficult to discover independently.

We can also assist with selected travel arrangements, helping each journey feel smooth, personal and well supported from start to finish.

Meet Our Team

Joyce-Chinami

Born in Osaka and now based in Tokyo, Chinami has 20 years of experience guiding international visitors. Fluent in Japanese and English, she loves sharing lesser-known places, local restaurants and her enthusiasm for food (especially bread). She is also learning Italian and Spanish.

Founder

Originally from London and now based in Tokyo, Cat brings a background in arts, music and language education. Her long-standing connection with Japan inspired her to study its culture and language, and she now speaks Japanese and Korean alongside English.

Born and based in Tokyo, Yoshimi brings extensive knowledge of the city’s historic downtown neighborhoods. Fluent in Japanese and English, she supports Hanamichi’s finance team and is a devoted Queen fan with a particular fondness for England.

Hiroshi brings many years of experience in finance, real estate and consulting. A keen traveller on Japan’s local railways, he also enjoys sake and Japanese baseball, and is always happy to share recommendations for places worth discovering.
